New Electrical Service Installation in Port Hadlock, WA

New meter bases, service entrances and utility coordination for new homes.

New Electrical Service Installation for Jefferson County homes

Every new home, ADU or major outbuilding needs a properly installed electrical service — the meter base, service entrance conductors, main disconnect and grounding that connect your property to the utility. Getting this right affects everything downstream.

We coordinate with the local utility on service location and requirements, install the equipment, and schedule inspection so the utility can energize on time. For rural lots with long underground runs, we'll help you plan the trench path and conduit sizing.

The local angle

Long driveways, rocky ground and tall timber are normal here. We've planned plenty of services where the meter ends up hundreds of feet from the house, and we know how to size them so voltage stays solid.

Reed Electrical has served the Olympic Peninsula since 2010, and Ron Reed brings 22 years of hands-on experience to every job. We're 100% residential, so we know how to work cleanly in an occupied home and how to keep a builder's schedule on track. When the work needs a Washington State electrical permit, we pull it and schedule the inspection.

FAQ

New Electrical Service Installation FAQ

Who contacts the utility?

We handle the coordination so the utility knows what's needed and when the service is ready for connection.

What size service do I need?

Most new homes get a 200-amp service, but shops, EV charging and electric heat may call for more. We'll size it after reviewing your plans.

Should my service be underground?

Underground is often preferred on wooded peninsula lots because it's protected from falling limbs during windstorms.
