Electrical Service Upgrades in Port Hadlock, WA

Increase capacity from 60/100 amps to 200 amps for modern living.

Electrical Service Upgrades for Jefferson County homes

Many older homes on the peninsula have 60- or 100-amp services. That was plenty when they were built, but today's heat pumps, EV chargers, hot tubs, shops and induction ranges can push them past their limits.

A service upgrade increases the capacity coming into your home — typically to 200 amps. It usually includes a new meter base, service entrance and main panel, plus coordination with the utility.

The local angle

Heat pumps have become popular across Jefferson County. Pairing one with an EV charger on an older 100-amp service is one of the most common reasons we upgrade.

Reed Electrical has served the Olympic Peninsula since 2010, and Ron Reed brings 22 years of hands-on experience to every job. We're 100% residential, so we know how to work cleanly in an occupied home and how to keep a builder's schedule on track. When the work needs a Washington State electrical permit, we pull it and schedule the inspection.

FAQ

Electrical Service Upgrades FAQ

How do I know my service size?

The main breaker in your panel is usually labeled with the amperage. We can confirm it on site.

Is 200 amps enough?

For most homes, yes. Large homes with shops or multiple EVs may need more — a load calculation tells us.

Will my power be off during the upgrade?

Yes, for part of the day while the utility disconnects and reconnects. We'll schedule it with you in advance.
