Electrical Panel Upgrades in Port Hadlock, WA

Replace outdated, full or recalled panels with safe modern equipment.

Electrical Panel Upgrades for Jefferson County homes

If your home still has its original panel from the 1960s, 70s or 80s, it may be time for an upgrade. Older panels — especially some brands with known problems — can fail to trip when they should. Others are simply full, leaving no room for the circuits a modern household needs.

A panel upgrade replaces the old equipment with a modern panel, new breakers and proper grounding. It's one of the most practical safety improvements you can make in an older home.

The local angle

Salt air near the water in Port Townsend, Marrowstone and Port Ludlow speeds up corrosion. We regularly see rusted panels on waterfront homes that are overdue for replacement.

Reed Electrical has served the Olympic Peninsula since 2010, and Ron Reed brings 22 years of hands-on experience to every job. We're 100% residential, so we know how to work cleanly in an occupied home and how to keep a builder's schedule on track. When the work needs a Washington State electrical permit, we pull it and schedule the inspection.

FAQ

Electrical Panel Upgrades FAQ

How long does a panel upgrade take?

Most panel swaps are completed in a day. Power is off for part of that time.

Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?

Not always. We'll do a load evaluation to see whether your existing panel can support a charger.

Are some old panel brands unsafe?

Some older panel brands have documented breaker problems. If we find one, we'll explain the concern and your options.
